Wards ‘Big Wigs’ challenge update

A group of daredevils from Wards Solicitors braved the freezing temperatures on Sunday to take part in a sponsored abseil at Uphill quarry. The abseil was in aid of Sue Ryder Care, as part of Wards’ fundraising for their ‘Big Wigs Challenge’.

Eroding the boundaries of the ‘without prejudice’ rule

The first priority in efforts to achieve a negotiated settlement in a dispute is allowing both parties to speak frankly, without prejudicing their position regarding liability, should the matter proceed to trial. This is known as the ‘without prejudice’ rule. Under this rule both parties can openly exchange offers and solutions, knowing that any admissions will not be repeated at trial to imply liability.

Flying high… Wards getting into the swing of things for the Big Wigs Charity Challenge

As reported in September Wards are taking part in the Sue Ryder Big Wigs challenge.

Teams from across the Wards offices have set themselves the goal of raising £5,000 by March 2011 . With only four months in which to raise these funds everyone is having to think creatively! Upcoming initiatives include a charity auction, abseil and a Christmas raffle.

The Cots for Tots Appeal

From time to time a charitable appeal really makes you think… and this is one of those times. The Cots for Tots Appeal, which supports special care babies at St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol, is raising £1 million to provide 4 life-saving cots and a new intensive care Suite at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit… as well as a Family Accommodation Suite close by.
