Biography

What was your worst ­experience as a trainee?

Doing holiday cover for principal who kept all relevant information regarding cases, court hearings etc in his head!

What do you do at weekends?

Spend time with my family, ballroom dancing, catching up with friends, going to church, swimming, walking and cooking.

“If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you have been?

I’m not sure. Wanted to be a lawyer since I was 14 and read To Kill a Mocking Bird.

Specialism

Alison’s specialisms are:

• Claims arising out of negligent medical treatment , whether by GP’s, in a hospital setting (either NHS or private), dental treatment and claims arising out of cosmetic surgery.
• Claims arising out of accidents at work
• Road traffic accidents
• Tripping and slipping claims
• High value claims including claims involving head injuries
• Criminal Injury compensation claims
• Injury caused by defective products

She has been a  Member of the Law Society’s PI panel since 1994 and has Senior Litigator Status with APIL.

Alison believes passionately in seeking justice for those who have suffered injury, either as a result of an accident which was not their fault or because of negligent medical treatment, to ensure that they are both fully compensated for their injuries and loss and that all possible steps are taken to assist them in getting their lives back to normal.

Career history

2003: Became Partner at Wards
2002: Moved from Broad Street to Staple Hill office
1987: Joined Wards as trainee then stayed on after qualifying.
