What was your first-ever job?

My first job was as an assistant in Careys – a local DIY shop in Portishead.

If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you have been?

I always wanted to be a maths teacher.

1998: Joined Wards as assistant solicitor at Portishead specialising in residential conveyancing
1993: Became Managing Partner Sharples & Co
1981: Qualified into Sharples & Co and ran a branch office on his own in St George, Bristol
