Who’s your hero and why?

Scott/Shackleton/Amundsen and their ilk. Fighting impossible odds just because they thought they should.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what two luxury items would you take?

I would negotiate my way out of being stranded and alternatively negotiate more than two items, but if I had to cave in, my Cuban Cigars and Cognac and could pretend I had just finished a good dinner.

If a movie was being made about your life, which actor would play you and why?

Paul Schofield if he were alive, as in A Man for All Seasons. A wonderful example of a lawyer, Sir Thomas More, wrestling with himself.
