A walk and a woof for charity (and well done little Eve!)

Striding out on a blustery Saturday afternoon, members of staff from Wards Solicitors' - ably supported by dogs, children and relatives - took to the coast to raise money for BRACE, the Bristol-based charity which funds vital medical research into the causes, diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's.

BRACE is Wards Solicitors' charity of the year and the sponsored walk took in six miles of the coastal path from Portishead to Clevedon with the fresh air, views and laughs along the way enjoyed by all.

The total raised is still being counted but star fundraiser is undoubtedly eight-year-old Eve, daughter of Jessie Price who works in the Family Law and Divorce team in the Bristol office. Eve brought in a very impressive £45.

Jessie said: "I was really proud of Eve. She did the whole six-mile walk with barely a complaint and really enjoyed herself."

Georgina Peacock, from Wards Solicitors' Weston-super-Mare office, added: "It was a perfect afternoon - no rain, great company, beautiful route and views and all for a great cause. We are already planning our next walk."

Over the last year, staff from all 11 of Wards Solicitors' local offices have thrown themselves into helping support BRACE.

Activities have included taking part in Bristol's annual Dragon Boat Festival, dressed as characters from the sixties cartoon series, Wacky Races; completing the demanding Nailsea 20K Challenge and cycling around all 11 of the Wards Solicitors offices in a ride covering 111 miles in the 111th year of business.
