Devon & Somerset Law Society Awards ‘trainee solicitor’ prize to Wards Solicitors’ Michelle Ward

Former Wards Solicitors’ trainee solicitor, Michelle Ward has been selected as the winner of the Devon & Somerset Law Society’s Cook’s & Hatchard’s Prize. Judged by a panel of practicing legal professionals, the award recognises trainee solicitors who have demonstrated particular academic success and merit throughout their training contract.

The prize was presented by Jeremy Browne MP at the Devon & Somerset Law Society Dinner, which was held at Somerset County Cricket club, on Friday 7th November.

Michelle is now a qualified solicitor and working as part of the firm’s Commercial Property team, based in the Weston-super-Mare office.

Heather Jones, newly appointed Head of Business Services and Commercial Property, said: “Michelle is a deserving winner of this award, essentially recognising her as one of the best trainee solicitors in the region. Throughout her time at Wards Solicitors she has demonstrated exceptional legal understanding, combined with an approachable client manner. I’m delighted to see her recognised in this way.”

Michelle said: “It’s a great compliment to have been selected to receive this award. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a trainee solicitor at Wards Solicitors and now look forward to a long career with the firm.”
