Older Client in Care Practice Awards goes to 7 members of the Wills & Mental Capacity team

Alison Lamont is the latest member of Wards Solicitors, Wills & Mental Capacity team to be accepted as a member of the national association 'Solicitors for the Elderly' (SFE). Alison specialises in Court of Protection, Deputyship and Mental Capacity matters.

Alison, along with six other members of the Wills & Mental Capacity team, has also been awarded the Older Client in Care Practice (OCCP) Award. The award recognises experience in advising older and vulnerable clients including understanding the potential physical and cognitive limitations that may affect the way advice is given.

The OCCP exam covered key areas such as: client relationships; older client communication and interview techniques; and undue influence, safeguarding and protecting the client's interests.

The SFE is an association of lawyers who provide specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers. Members of SFE have a wealth of experience within this key legal area and they are required to have spent a substantial amount of time working for elderly clients. The aim of this national association is to improve the knowledge and service provided on legal issues including, tax planning, Wills, enduring powers of attorney, long-term social and health care and other retirement issues.
