With mortgage lending to first time buyers up by 17% on last year and 76% of consumers hoping to buy their own home (Council of Mortgage Lenders research) there are signs that the housing market, in the South West, is starting to move again.

Local law firm, Wards Solicitors is seeing and responding to this growth in more ways than just helping people to buy and sell their homes.

The Wards Solicitors New Homes team is dedicated to working on new homes transactions and because of their many years experience acting for developers in relation to plot sales and acting for purchasers of their new homes, they have the required expertise  needed in this field and can respond better than a mainstream Conveyancing practice would be able to.

Over the past months they have noticed such a significant growth in market activity, and resulting workload, that they have promoted two members of staff and grown their support team as well.

Both based in the firm’s Bradley Stoke office, Jenny Maggs has just qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer and James Forgham is in the process of qualifying.

New Homes Manager, Gary Hope said: “There is no denying that the property market, over the past couple of years, has been a tough place to work. We’re delighted to see the recent growth, all be it small, and to be able to respond in this way – providing job opportunities in the local area. ”
