Wards Solicitors’ growing commercial team celebrates as it expands its services across the region

Wards Solicitors commercial, corporate and commercial property law teams were delighted to welcome guests to their new central Bristol hub at an evening event to promote the specialist provision and expertise offered across all 11 of its offices.

Not only is the renovated and fully refurbished office on High Street conveniently placed for Bristol's business community, its opening also marks the expansion of the commercial property team with the arrival of experienced Solicitor Associate Jasbir 'Ruby' Sandhu.

Wards Solicitors has a growing reputation for providing all the skills and knowledge a business needs with tailored and up-to-the-minute legal advice on everything from setting up and growing a business to buying and selling land, commercial and residential development and solving disputes.

Commercial and Corporate Services

When it comes to commercial and corporate services, Partner Bridget Juckes and Solicitor Associate Joanne Turner have an established reputation for building enduring relationships with their clients.

They deal with all aspects of this area of the law including employment contracts and non-contentious settlement agreements and loan arrangements as well as:

  • Buying and selling shares and businesses (mergers and acquisitions);
  • Business structures including incorporation of companies and shareholder and partnership agreements;
  • Commercial trading contracts (both standard terms and one off trading arrangements).

Bridget says: "I enjoy building a longstanding and ongoing relationship with clients enabling me to understand their business and its requirements as it grows. On a more day-to-day level, however, I enjoy completing a transaction - whether negotiating and drafting the terms of a major business contract for ongoing trading or completing the sale or purchase of shares or business - and knowing that it will have a fundamental impact on the next stage of that client's business life."

Commercial Property Services

Wards Solicitors Commercial Property specialists ground every piece of advice in business and common-sense and as a result, clients range from major national and regional companies through to smaller developers, property investors and start-up businesses.

In spite of economic changes, land and property are still major assets for any business and whether the plan is to grow, restructure or review asset management, Wards Solicitors has the legal expertise to understand and support the process.

There are now six specialist commercial property lawyers, all available at each of Wards Solicitors' 11 office locations, dealing in commercial property sales, purchases and leases including long and medium term lettings and pop-up businesses, development and regeneration of land and buildings including the sale of land for commercial development and landlord and tenant issues

Heather Jones, Partner and Head of Business Services and Commercial Property, said: "It is vital that clients take the proper advice when disposing of or taking on interests in property. Clients need to be sure that they are aware of all the obligations and liabilities involved so that they can make an informed decision about the transaction. It is cheaper to get advice beforehand than to try to rectify problems later."

When problems arise - Wards Solicitors' Business Disputes team can help

Of course, no business wants the disruption of a dispute but sometimes it's unavoidable. Partner James Taylor and Solicitor Associate James Murray both have a growing reputation in this field dealing with everything from company property and shareholder, director and partnership disputes to construction and engineering disputes, in which James Murray specialises, as well as contractual disputes, debt recovery, employment and banking and financial services.
