About us
For over 100 years we have been providing local businesses and individuals with expert legal advice.
Our ten offices are located across the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset region and each provides the same level of specialist legal service. What that means is that wherever you are based and wherever you want to see your solicitor, you can rest assured that you will get the best person or team for the job right on your doorstep.
We don’t think you should just take our word that our teams of dedicated, specialist lawyers are some of the leading experts in the region. The reassurances given by our membership of several specialist law panels and our being one of the few firms to hold the Law Society’s Lexcel standard should help. But it’s not just about awards and standards. We are dedicated to making sure we’ve thought of the practical things that are important to you. Our local office network ensures we can keep our overheads down so we can pass that saving on to you. We use a range of technologies to ensure you always get the most up to date service and you can even start the ball rolling online for some of our services. Finally, although free parking is available at nearly all of our offices, if you can’t get in we’ll always try to arrange a home visit.

Your satisfaction depends on our not only doing an excellent legal job but also providing an excellent service. We constantly assess and review this and rely on your feedback to suggest areas for improvement. Our client charter sets out the standards we think you can expect to receive. We send out a client satisfaction questionnaire at the end of every case and all replies go directly to David Sheridan, our Managing Partner. We also welcome external feedback and our case files and procedures are regularly audited by the Legal Services Commission, the various legal services panels that we are on and the Law Society’s Lexcel mark.
We’re always interested to hear from you if you would like to work at Wards but unfortunately we aren’t able to offer work experience placements. Our current vacancies will always be listed below, but if you can’t see what you’re looking for, please contact our Bristol office and we’ll direct your call to the right person.
We do not plan to recruit any trainees to start before Autumn 2012 and will only consider applications received in writing with a supporting CV between 1 May 2012 and 30 June 2012. These applications will be considered for both a 2012 and a 2013 start depending on our requirements at that time. We receive a high number of speculative applications and will not be able to acknowledge or retain any applications sent before these dates. Please send applications to Georgina Peacock.
The Government requires all solicitors to guard against possible money laundering – the process by which the proceeds of crime become ‘clean’. For more information on how this affects you why not download our helpful guide.
