Full time: Junior IT Administrator

We are seeking a Junior IT Administrator to assist with the day-to-day running of all computer systems in use at Wards. The job would be based in Weston-super-Mare, but we have several offices across Bristol, BANES, South Gloucestershire and the South West so a driving licence and car is essential.  Excellent salary and benefits on offer.

You would report to and be mentored by the IT Manager. We have an external company who provide first line technical support, but you would be expected to provide telephone and direct user support to employees. The job holder would also be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and development of IT systems as well as both hardware and software applications.

The role supports a wide user base and thus requires a good understanding of IT systems and change control processes, and a broad knowledge of business processes and functions would be valuable.

Junior IT Administrator typical duties:

  • Provision of support to end users and assisting them in their duties
  • Delivery and set-up of IT equipment
  • General troubleshooting and upkeep of IT systems
  • System maintenance and housekeeping duties
  • Assisting with the administration and programming of the case management system
  • Telecommunications management
  • Internet security and maintenance

The successful candidate must have:

  • Good IT skills, including Windows desktop and Microsoft Office
  • An ability to pick up new tasks quickly
  • Excellent communication, numerical and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail, an ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • An ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally
  • An ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of PC networking and Windows server
  • Understanding of case management or document management systems would be advantageous

A driving licence will be essential as you will be required to visit our 13 offices.
