Bravo Bristol – Wards Solicitors matches public donations to NHS charity appeal

Well done to the people of Bristol for donating more than £7,000 to boost the funds of our city hospitals - a figure Wards Solicitors was more than delighted to match.

Between July 2 and 13, a generous 201 members of the public came up trumps giving £7,807 to The Big Bristol Give NHS70, part of the Above & Beyond appeal, to mark the 70th birthday of the NHS.

Wards Solicitors was more than happy to double this figure with a £7,000 donation - taking the total to £14,807 - to help make a real difference to patients, their families and the staff who treat them in Bristol's city centre hospitals.

Edd Smith, Above & Beyond's Corporate Partnerships and Community Fundraising Manager, added: "We're really grateful to Wards Solicitors for providing the match funding for the Big Bristol Give NHS70. It gave the campaign a real boost and helped us raise vital funds for Bristol's city centre hospitals to celebrate 70 years of the NHS."

And Jenny Pierce, Wards Solicitors' Partner and head of the Wills, Probate and Mental Capacity Team, added: "The £7,000 we were so pleased to donate comes from the Wards Solicitors' Centenary Fund, which was set up by the staff of Wards, specifically to support local causes. The fund was started over a decade ago to commemorate the firm's 100th birthday."
