Buying property in Portishead – Portishead Station & Railway line. Update

The latest Portishead Rail Services newsletter (Spring update) has just been published. It confirms that the Office of Rail Regulation have decided they do not accept there is an exceptional circumstance case for a level crossing at Quays Avenue. This was required to enable the station to be at the Waitrose site.

Now this decision has been received, it leaves the way clear for North Somerset Council to confirm the station location at their next meeting on 17th March. It is expected that this will be confirmed as the 2B option, on the corner of Quays Avenue and Harbour Road. In last summer's public consultation, this was the most popular of the 3 remaining options.

The next meeting of the Portishead Railway Group is also on 17 March, in the Folk House at 7.30.
