A close innings for Wards Solicitors

It was an impressive effort, and not a sticky wicket in sight, but our own Wards Solicitors' cricket team didn't quite manage to pull it off against Christie & Co in our regular friendly head to head.

Christie's scored an imposing 156 runs and although Ian Williamson, Kieran Palmer, Ciaran Keane and Amy Blackmore all put in some valiant batting performances, we fell 37 runs short in our bid to catch our opponents up at the crease.

Sadly, we will now have to hand over the cup we won when the match was last played in 2013.

Partner Tom Scoffham said: "A big thanks to the team of Luke Hewitt, Kieran Palmer, Ian Williamson, Chris Francis, Richard Clement, Ciaran Keane, Amy Blackmore, Richard Green, Ryan Swann and Wilf Blake for volunteering for the 2018 team. 2019 will be our year!"
