Alayne and Sharon step out for the Alzheimer’s Society

"Frankly terrified," is how Alayne Nash and Sharon Brooks describe themselves as they prepare to forgo sleep and the comfort of their own beds to walk through the night in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.

This weekend, they will join around 3,000 people taking part in the London 2 Brighton Challenge, an endurance event of 100km. Most, like Alayne and Sharon will walk the distance but some will jog it and others will even run the whole way.

It's all the more impressive as in July 2014, Alayne and Sharon - both part of Wards Solicitors disputes team - completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, also in aid of the Alzheimer's Society, and raised £870.

Alayne says: "The event is getting really close now. Training has gone well although walking the whole distance is still quite daunting, especially the thought of doing it through the night.

"The challenge starts in Richmond and 100km (62 miles) later, we will arrive at Brighton Race Track testing our fitness, stamina and ability to stay awake for longer than 24 hours to the limit."
