Along with hundreds of other runners, Wards Solicitors' Rachel Bennett pounded the streets, tracks and pavements around Bradley Stoke when she took part in the town's annual 10k race.

Rachel, who specialises in business relocation and works in the Bradley Stoke office, completed the race in 48 minutes 30 seconds, knocking 24 seconds off her previous year's time, and crossing the line as the 12th woman in the competition, two places better than in 2016.

The event is organised by Sole Sisters, Bristol's first all women England Athletics affiliated running group, and held every year in June as part of the Bradley Stoke Community Festival.

The route, described as multi-terrain, takes runners through the Three Brooks Local Nature Reserve as well as along footpaths including Bradley Stoke Way.

Rachel said: "It's a great event and exceptionally well organised. The numerous marshals are kind and offer lots of encouragement. The race is excellent value for money and the medal and t-shirt make brilliant souvenirs. I look forward to running again next year!''
