Wards Solicitors help get the ball rolling for charity

The annual charity ball organised by the Bristol Junior Lawyers Division (BJLD) raised around £2,500 for charity, an impressive result.

This year, the BJLD's chosen cause was Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Assault Support which helps people who have experienced rape or any kind of sexual assault or abuse at any time in their lives.

Wards Solicitors was delighted to take a table at the ball, with a group of its junior lawyers attending, as well as donate a prize to the raffle which raised £750.

Solicitor Claire James, who helped organise the evening at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel, said the ball had been a great success and a fantastic evening: "It was great to see such a good turnout to help support a local charity which does so much important work," she added.

One of the key aims of the BJLD is to organise charity fundraising events as well as career training, sporting and social occasions for its members including newly qualified lawyers, paralegals, trainee solicitors and students.
