Bedazzled Ball a great success
As the evening for the Ball grew nearer Sarah Woodward and I were frantically attempting to sell as many tickets as possible for the Bedazzled Ball which was held by the Rotary Club of Clevedon Yeo, sponsored by Wards Solicitors and organised by the ladies of the club including myself and Sarah, both Wards employees.
Amongst the frantic advertising and ticket selling there was also time for a little fun and we had a lovely day shopping for as much glittery jewellery and sparkly make up as we could find.
The evening was a huge success with all the ladies arriving in their dazzling dresses, the wine flowed freely, the meal was enjoyed and the dancing went on into the early hours.
Of course the point of all these events, apart from a bit of fun, is the raising of money to assist local charities. I am pleased to advise the Ball has raised £1,500 which will be shared between Springboard Opportunity Group for pre-school children with additional needs and their families in North Somerset and The Jessie May Trust which provides free nursing care to sick and terminally ill children at home.
Our next fun filled, if slightly competitive, event is an afternoon of Go Kart Racing, which will take place this Sunday at the Raceway in Avonmouth where we will hopefully raise more money for worthy causes.
