Cricketing success for Wards Solicitors

It has taken a long time coming, but, last week, after a tense last over, Wards Solicitors beat Christie & Co by one wicket, to secure "The Challenge Cup", after eleven years of famine.

The winning team included: Ian Williamson, Gary Hope, Alex Penwill, James Taylor, Hugh Cooper, Sam Hawke, Jonathan Wilson, Tim Fry and Ryan Swann, with support from Robert & Luke Taylor.

Jonathan Wilson said: "The victory was in part due to some fine batting by Alex Penwill (and others) and quality reverse seam bowling by Hugh Cooper. Thanks to everyone who played and attended - I think the common consensus was that it was a most enjoyable evening, suitably topped off by a Wards' Solicitors victory."
