Wards Lawyer in STEP with clients’ needs

Local lawyer, Sarah Woodward, took a step up when she recently became a fully qualified member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP). Sarah is a fully qualified Legal Executive (FILEX), who works in the Wills & Trusts department at the Clevedon office of Wards Solicitors. She said: "The qualification requires an in-depth understanding of the tax aspects of trust administration, probate and capital tax planning."

Membership is hard to achieve and requires a high level of academic achievement. Sarah will have to complete 35 hours of continual professional development each year in the form of seminars and reading, in order to keep up-to-date with this complex area of law.

Sarah is the only lawyer locally to be a member of STEP, and joins two colleagues at Wards' central Bristol office who are also full members.
