Wards reignites their Centenary Charity Fund – update
With all the doom and gloom for businesses in today's budget, it's a breath of, hopeful, fresh air (perhaps for the first day of spring) to hear of a South West law firm, Wards Solicitors, starting up a charitable fund to benefit local organisations.
The Wards Solicitors Centenary Fund was set up over a decade ago, to commemorate the firm's 100th birthday. In recent years it had fallen to one side, overtaken by ad-hoc, individual fundraising bequests. Now, to demonstrate their commitment to supporting local charities, the firm is re-launching the fund with a number of fundraising activities.
Based in nine locations across North Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucester, Wards Solicitors staff will be starting things off with a sponsored walk. But this isn't just any sponsored walk! Run over nine stages it will cover 70 miles in total and take in every Wards Solicitors office. The walk will start at the Bristol City Centre, Broad Street, office at 11am on Saturday 23 March and finish with a walk from Nailsea back to Broad Street on Saturday 19 October. If you'd like to sponsor the team you can do so by clicking here, or by joining in with any of the legs listed below. The Wards Centenary Fund is held with Quartet Community Foundation and will be making a donation, on behalf of this sponsored event, to the Jessie May Trust.

Bradley Stoke 10k run organised by Sole Sisters Running Club
Well done to the eight members of Wards Solicitors team who ran this 6 mile course, along tracks and footpaths through Bradley Stoke's Conservation Area on Sunday 9th June 2013. All the team completed the course but unfortunately Gary Hope did not manage to beat the course record time which he set four years ago!
This event was sponsored by Wards Solicitors and raises money for the Penny Brohn Cancer Care.
Three Peaks Challenge
Three members of Wards Solicitors staff (Pam Williams, Tom Scoffham and Ian Williamson) along with a number of others will be embarking on (and hopefully completing) this challenge to raise money for the Wards Centenary Fund. The money raised will include a significant donation to the Jessie May Trust.

Cycle ride around Wards Offices
Members of Wards Solicitors staff and friends will be riding from the Yate office to the Weston-super-Mare office, on Father's Day. It should be an interesting outing of about 60 miles or so and details of how to sponsor them will be released soon.
