Well-known Portishead conveyancing specialist joins Wards Solicitors’ local team
The wealth of residential conveyancing expertise already in place at Wards Solicitors' Portishead office has been further enhanced with the arrival of Associate, Jan Sefton.
With 12 years as a conveyancing specialist with Burroughs Day in Portishead, she joins Solicitor Associate Chris Perkins who has known the town since attending school there in 1966 and has worked in the Wards Solicitors' office since 1998.
Specialist local knowledge
Jan Sefton, like Chris, fully understands the local area, how things work and some of the town's unique factors - for example, being aware that anyone buying and selling property in some areas of the Port Marine area will be legally obliged to comply with title restrictions relating to the upkeep of the old sea wall and wildlife refuge area.
This is just one of a number of specific local arrangements that conveyancers need to be aware of and which Jan and Chris navigate daily, unlike some of the other non-local firms operating in the market.
Living and working locally
Jan says: "I work in Portishead and live in a nearby village so know the area and people extremely well. I love it here and I'm really pleased to be joining Wards Solicitors' where I can continue to ensure that people buying and selling in the town have access to a conveyancing team with the specialist local knowledge needed to ensure as smooth a process as possible."
Jan is actively involved in Portishead life. She is a committee member of Portishead Chamber of Commerce and regularly takes part in community events including the Portishead Home Show, Business Outlook and the annual raft race.
She is also a long standing member of the local kettlebell club and a keen runner.
Managing Partner, David Sheridan, adds: "I am delighted to welcome Jan to Wards Solicitors. She brings many years of local experience to our Portishead office, further boosting the extensive skills and knowledge we already have there."
