Come rain or shine, Wards volunteers will be there!

Several colleagues from Wards Solicitors braved all manner of weather - from rain and hail to spring sun – to help with Bristol BID’s Big Broadmead Spring Clean by spending their lunch break litter picking in Castle Park.

Despite the typical British weather, staff from the Bristol office donned high vis jackets and grabbed some litter pickers to clear Castle Park of rubbish. Part of Bristol Business Improvement District’s Big Broadmead Spring Clean, supported by Bristol Waste, a group of volunteers including Wards met at the clean-up hub in Shredenhams and made their way through the hail to Castle Park.

The team spent an hour in the park, picking up a wide variety of waste and talking to the local community – several people stopped to enquire about the volunteering and to offer thank yous to everyone participating for giving up their time to help. Alison, Jo, and Laura were even asked to take part in a video promoting the project, so we might have some movie stars in the making in our office…

After finishing up with full bags and slightly soaked high vis vests, the Wards team returned to Shredenhams and were rewarded with coffee and certificates of appreciation! Wards Solicitors encourages staff to take part in volunteering, especially with our charity partners, such as when staff volunteered with Alive Activities.
