Make Your Will Week for Weston Hospicecare raises £18,000

For the seventh year running, Wards Solicitors was delighted to take part in Weston Hospicecare's annual Make Your Will Week.

Along with solicitors from seven other Somerset legal firms, we drew up 160 Wills to raise a total of more than £18,000 to help the Uphill-based charity provide palliative care for people with a life-limiting illness in Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding areas.

The scheme sees solicitors give up their time, free of charge, to write basic wills in exchange for a suggested minimum donation to the hospice. In this way, the charity benefits and so does the individual.

Anita Wiegel-Lloyd, the hospice's trusts, legacies and lottery fundraiser, said: "We are so grateful to the solicitors for giving up their valuable time to support Weston Hospicecare.

"Make Your Will Week will return in February 2019, and we hope to see even more people taking advantage of the opportunity it offers."
