If you'd like professional legal advice about what to do when it comes to making your Will or a Lasting Power of Attorney, then Wards Solicitors' free information sessions could be just what you are looking for.

On the last Thursday of every month, starting this Thursday, two members of Wards Solicitors' highly experienced, friendly and approachable Wills and Probate team will be on hand in Portishead Library to answer any questions and point you in the right direction if further advice is needed.

Expertise

Solicitor Associate Laura Jakeways and Chartered Legal Executive Sheridan Ferris are both highly knowledgeable and experienced members of Wards Solicitors' Wills and Probate team, now one of the biggest in the South West, and work in the local Portishead office.

Laura's work includes writing tax efficient Wills, advising on the creation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection and Mental Capacity work as well as Inheritance Tax planning, care home fee planning, Deeds of Variation and Declarations of Trust.

Clients praise her for her friendly, professional and efficient service with one writing in to tell us: "It has been a difficult time for me but Laura's kindness, patience and professionalism has been a great help to me and my family."

Sheridan specialises in Will drafting, Inheritance Tax and long term care planning, Administration of Estates, Court of Protection and Mental Capacity work. One client told us: "Sheridan went above and beyond to assist me. I've recommended her and Wards Solicitors to others."

Law Society accreditation

Wards Solicitors has recently been awarded, once again, the Law Society's Lexcel quality mark for excellence - an accreditation it has held since the early days of the scheme's existence - following another annual round of rigorous assessment.

The scheme sets the benchmark for quality in a number of different areas including people management, client care and file and case management and assures clients they can expect, among other things, regular and accurate cost estimates, a timely response to enquiries and accessible information on how charges are calculated.
