Thornbury blooms again this year!
For the second year running, Wards is proud to be a main sponsor of this year's Thornbury in Bloom, an annual community event in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire.
This year, the Thornbury organisers have also entered the RHS Britain in Bloom National challenge – the eagerly awaited results will be out on 31 October, with the results for South West in Bloom on the 8 October.
Commenting, organiser Kath Greenman said this year’s partnership with South Glos had been a real success. “We completed a project to install 9 new containers and refurbished 8 existing containers on the High Street, planting them with a mixture of perennials and annuals, herbs and vegetables. The National judges said our high street was phenomenal on the day.”
“We are working with more of our primary schools than ever and for the first time, have worked with a pre-school group and we have also started working with elderly care homes.”
“Water has been a challenge this year and various parts/groups/businesses of the community came together to help out. This made all the difference and demonstrates how much the community cares!”
Wards' sponsorship goes towards supporting one of Thornbury in Bloom's main displays, a bed of wildflowers at the Ring of Thorns, situated on the roundabout by the large Tesco superstore.
Wishing all of the Thornbury in Bloom volunteers, pictured below with Wards Associate Solicitor Rebecca Tribble, the very best of luck with the results!
