A group of intrepid cyclists from Wards set off for the annual Tour de Wards loop last Saturday, 29 April, taking in the firm’s 12 different branches across Bristol, South Glos, Bath and N East Sussex, North Somerset and NE Somerset.

Organiser James Taylor was joined by James Murray, Andi McKay, Lee Mills, Clair Wadden of Unity St Chambers, and Fergus Currie from Guildhall Chambers.

In total, the cyclists powered their way around the 100 mile circuit in just under 7 hours, starting in Bradley Stoke, through Henleaze and over the Avonmouth Bridge towards Clevedon and Portishead, only stopping to refuel with some much needed cake and refreshments in Weston and later, Keynsham, before continuing on to Bristol and Staple Hill.  Finally, aided by the afternoon’s warm sunshine, the group headed out towards Yate and then cross-country to Thornbury, finishing up around 6.45pm.

On the shorter 52 mile North Somerset loop, Wards' Partners Sarah Woodward and Laura Jakeways started out at at Wards' Nailsea office, and took in Portishead, Clevedon, Worle and over the Strawberry Line to Weston before returning to Nailsea.

A fantastic effort by all involved, which so far has raised over £800 for Wards’s charity partner, 1625 Independent People, which works to support homeless young people in the South West.
