Clare Mizen

Associate Solicitor

Clare deals with the full range of Wills, probate and estate administration work.

This work includes:

  • Will drafting and estate planning, including preparing Wills with discretionary trusts for minor or disabled children, estate planning for business owners to ensure assets pass to the intended beneficiaries, providing protection of assets where possible and putting practical steps in place to reduce claims against an estate after someone passes away.
  • Administration of estates, in particular administration of taxable and non-taxable estates, complex estates, intestate estates, arranging estate valuations and mitigation of inheritance tax, and locating beneficiaries and missing assets.
  • Lasting Power of Attorney including obtaining proof of capacity. Clare approaches all such matters with tact, efficiency and understanding.

"Clare was friendly and approachable and always returned my calls if she was not available when I phoned her - this made the procedure less stressful at a grief stricken time."

Clare said: “The work I do is a specialist area of law. If a solicitor is not used it can, and often does lead to delay, additional cost and legal disputes. Getting things right from the outset by using a properly qualified Solicitor is incredibly important. I pride myself on being both approachable and thorough in the advice I give. My clients are important to me. I recognise that the matters I deal with are often ones which people find difficult to talk about. I focus on enabling my clients to understand the processes involved and to feel reassured that all steps are being taken in their best interests.”
