Services For You

Scarring (or ‘fibrosis’) of the lungs can occur without asbestos exposure.  However, if a person has been exposed to a large quantity of asbestos dust during their lifetime, it becomes more likely that the scarring has been caused by asbestos exposure and that person is diagnosed as suffering from ‘asbestosis’.

The condition is permanent and can cause severe disability and even death.  The condition often takes decades to develop and so often affects people in later life.
