Services For You
Mesothelioma is a type of cancer caused by breathing in asbestos dust, even in small amounts.
This cancer occurs in the mesothelium, which is a membrane that lines the cavities and internal organs of the chest and abdomen. When the asbestos dust is breathed in, it lodges itself inside the lungs and slowly, over time, causes cancerous mutations.
Mesothelioma is most often found in the pleura, which is the part of the mesothelium that lines the lungs, but it can also be found in the abdomen.
On average, it takes 40 years from the date of exposure for mesothelioma to develop. However, each case is unique and this time can be longer or much shorter (as few as 10 years). This disease therefore often affects people in later life and someone who was exposed to asbestos in their 20s might not develop mesothelioma until their 60s, 70s or 80s.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with an asbestos-related illness, or if a loved one has died from an asbestos-related illness, we can help you.
We offer independent, expert legal advice and we can help you to understand all of the options available to you. We have a number of offices across North Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire and serve clients across the wider Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Somerset region.
We are also happy to visit you in your own home.
