Services For You
‘Pleural thickening’ or ‘diffuse pleural thickening’ is a condition primarily caused by asbestos exposure.
The ‘pleura’ is the name given the membrane that lines the lungs. ‘Pleural thickening’ happens when the pleura becomes scarred and thickens. In mild cases, there may be few or no symptoms. However, as the condition progresses, pleural thickening causes difficulty breathing, causes chest pain and breathlessness.
Pleural thickening cannot be cured and can be extremely debilitating, although treatments may ease some of the symptoms.
As with other asbestos-related illnesses, symptoms often start decades after the asbestos exposure.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with an asbestos-related illness, or if a loved one has died from an asbestos-related illness, we can help you.
We offer independent, expert legal advice and we can help you to understand all of the options available. We have a number of offices across North Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire and serve clients across the wider Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Somerset region.
We are also happy to visit you in your own home.
