A comprehensive booklet which aims to ensure that everyone understands their legal right to redress for personal injuries which were not their fault has been fully endorsed by Wards Solicitors’ accident and injury specialist lawyers.
The publication, called Compensation Explained, has been produced by The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), and explains in detail exactly how the compensation system works, why it’s important that injured people are compensated and what it takes for them to receive compensation.
Aiming to reach those with little or no understanding of the legal system
APIL’s chief executive, Deborah Evans, says: “Compensation Explained is a guide to the purpose of compensation for those who have little or no understanding of the system.
“Our aim is for everyone to understand the importance of a right to redress for suffering needless harm, regardless of whether or not they have experience of the system. We are determined to do all we can to ensure that some harmful and misguided perceptions about personal injury will be turned around.”
Wards Solicitors’ accident and injury specialist lawyers – a team with a growing reputation for excellence across the region – are all members of APIL, a not-for-profit organisation made up of 3,400 members committed to changing the law, protecting and enhancing access to justice and improving the services provided for victims of personal injury.
In addition, head of the team, Partner Alison Underhill holds APIL senior litigator status reflecting her 25-years-plus experience of seeking compensation on behalf of those who have been injured in accidents or as a result of negligent medical treatment. She has also been a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel since 1994
