Fixed Fee Divorce Solicitors

Getting divorced is emotionally painful and stressful enough without having to worry endlessly about whether your legal costs are going to spiral out of control.

This is where Wards Solicitors’ range of fixed fee divorce packages can help. We will discuss your circumstances and needs including which of our options is the most suitable for you at an initial meeting.

Our fixed fee options for divorce are set out below:

Divorce advice and assistance

Applicant  –  £600 plus vat

  • Advice in connection with divorce and the divorce process.
  • Drafting the divorce application.
  • Issuing the application with the court.
  • Applying for the Conditional Order.
  • Applying for the Final Order.

You will be responsible for the court fee, currently £593.

Respondent – £395 plus vat

  • Advising upon the contents of a divorce application received by you either as a draft or from the court.
  • Assisting in the completion of the Acknowledgement of Service form.
  • Advising you on the Conditional Order and Final Order as each is pronounced.

Exemptions to the fixed fee

Our divorce fixed fees do not include any work in connection with financial or children issues.  We will discuss with you your funding options if you need our help with making arrangements for your children or reaching a financial settlement.

Most divorce procedure is straightforward however there are some situations not covered by our fixed fee.

They include the following:

  • The divorce is disputed from the outset
  • Amendments are required to the divorce application
  • Any court hearings are required for example in disputed claims
  • The whereabouts of the other party are not known
  • Additional applications to the court including dispensing with service, substituted or deemed service
  • Obtaining duplicate marriage certificate or applying to the court to proceed without a certificate
  • The respondent does not complete the acknowledgement of service form and personal service is required
  • International elements including issues around which court or country the divorce can or should start in
