Making a difference for charity – cyclists on a mission to help

A keen team of cyclists from Wards Solicitors is gearing up for a mammoth 95 mile bike ride in aid of Off the Record Bristol (OTR), our charity of the year for 2019.

The ride will follow a challenging route taking in all 11 of the Wards Solicitors' offices, starting and finishing at Bradley Stoke, with refreshments provided en-route for those taking part by other members of staff.

The team are hoping to raise as much money as possible for OTR, an innovative and forward thinking organisation providing mental health support and information to those aged between 11 and 25 in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

It was chosen as Wards Solicitors' new Charity of the Year after our 200-plus staff voted 'mental health' and 'children and young people' as the areas on which they wished to focus their fundraising efforts in 2019.

Wards Solicitors' Partner, James Taylor, who is organising the event, said: "The Tour de Wards gets bigger and bigger as our office network grows. With this third incarnation, we're doing a loop around all the offices.

"Uptake has been very good and we are excited and encouraged by support from our colleagues who will be cheering us on with cakes and refreshments at our various offices along the way. We hope to raise lots of money for Off the Record who do so much to help our local young people."

The Wards Solicitors' riders doing the whole 95 mile route are Andrew Wareham, James Murray, Samantha Hosken and James Taylor, with friends and relatives also riding.

Other cyclists including Sarah Woodward, Rachael Thomas, Katrina Bartlett, Paul Hayward and Val George will cycle shorter routes between Bradley Stoke and Weston super Mare.

The cycle tour will take place on April 6 and anyone who would like to donate can do so by clicking here.
